Bunson Travel Service is the leading Travel Management Company established in East Africa in 1948. In 1950, we became the first Travel Agency licensed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in East Africa. Bunson Travel joined the CWT Global Partners Network in 1999. We were the first African country to join the CWT global Partnership. CWT is the world’s largest Travel Management Company with a global presence in more than 150 countries, and in over 3000 locations. CWT Kenya is independently owned and operated by Bunson Travel Service.
Bunson Travel was started in November 1948, when Kenyan/British children were stranded in the UK and could not join their parents back in Kenya for the Christmas break as the steamship passages were overbooked and regular air service was too expensive. Bunson chartered a 27-seater Viking aircraft to make sure the children could get home for Christmas. The company was incorporated in 1950 and was located in the basement of Panafrican Building on Standard Street, Nairobi.
In 2007 Bunson Travel was bought over by Julie Dabaly-Scott (at the time she was the sales and marketing Director). Julie became the Managing Director and in 2012 accuiqued our current office location located at Park Place Building off Limuru Road.
